I just installed Seneca Imperial Thickness Gauge on new DF 500 and it's very hard to move unless I loosen the screw on the bracket. Any suggestions before I call Seneca?
One other thought, do you have the fence down on it and tightened? If so, make sure it it loose. I hate to be captain obvious but it happens to the best of us.
Interesting. I bought one, installed it, and it worked smoothly. There is a ball detent. If the ball detent is not correctly aligned, it could cause difficulty in movement.
I ended up putting the metric gauge back in. Guess even us in NA are getting used to metric.
Has anyone ever had to get support from Seneca? I still haven't received a reply from them and I'm thinking of just returning the Thickness Gauge. I think it's silly for me to keep it if I have to loosen the screw every time I need to change stock size. Certainly not worth $55 to me.
I had the same issue with mine and ended up putting the metric scale back in. I intended to call them but totally forgot. For me it is sitting in the package in my domino systainer.
Tried to post this earlier, but not sure I was successful. You may want to try spraying some silicone spray on the sliding surfaces for the thickness gauge and the tool. Just some thing to consider trying. Bruce W. north of Seattle, Washington.
