Shaper Origin Feedback ?

I did not think these were set to be delivered until later this year, early 2018. ..?

From their site "Batch 2 pre-orders are estimated to begin delivery January 2018"

I thought "Batch one"  was to be delivered Feb of 2017.  Thought maybe some FOGers might have gotten one.

Oh, I thought batch one was September of 2017.? I am sure there will be a ton of reviews and videos once these reach end users. Sure does look interesting

Yea no one has them yet except those that where hooked up for reviews or promotional purposes. All the years theyve been working on that thing and they still arent out. I plan to wait a year or two AFTER they finally come out and get into the hands of actual customers before I even consider them an option.

I'm an investor, so don't you go sayin' nuttin' bad about my people, awright?

But seriously, they're having some sort of live event tomorrow, Thursday, at 5:30 PDT according to their Facebook page.

I plan to be there.

Cheers - Gary

PS  According to the FAQ:

Batch 1 pre-orders (taken prior to Feb 1, 2017) will begin shipping September 2017. Batch 2 pre-orders (taken after Feb 1, 2017) will begin shipping January 2018. For specific information about our terms and conditions click here.

I assume I'm in batch 1.

I ordered one in September, even if they only perform as the one's exhibited now I'll be in hog heaven.

I'm on the order list after using it at the Festool event.  Expected delivery is Sept 2017 and then the second batch coming in 2018.

I'm excited about what they are up to and the potential of that kind of accuracy without giving up a lot of shop space, plus the option of taking the tool to the job site.

Thanks for the heads-up on the FB Live session tomorrow -

Every year they say they are going to release them the next year. I first played with one 2 years ago at a Maker Faire in the Bay Area. First heard about them three years ago. I hope they finally do get these released, but its sad how many times and for how many years theyve pushed it out.

Ton of how-to videos from the company hit YT last night (kept me up until 1 AM [blink]) so I assumed the first batch must be ready to escape into the wild. Still no post-launch users reviews though.

Mine is in the second batch, eagerly awaiting.

Excellent.  I'm batch two as well, so hopefully I'll be able to learn from the trials and tribulations of the first rounders.

I have used one in the wild. it is a great piece of kit. I am in batch 2 as well and I think it will make a great addition to my existing CNC zoo.

I’m in batch 1 and watched a number of their new how-to and tutorial videos today.  Hoping for a shipping notice in the next couple of weeks.

Interested as well if there are any coupons left.

Any $100 off coupon referrals I find on the web no longer work. I'm assuming the referral network is just no longer an option.

Any coupons that I can use to purchase the Shaper?

I received my S.O. two weeks ago. Woah. This is an incredible machine with almost limitless uses. Probably just limited by your own creativity(or lack of). Looking forward to seeing more features rolled out in the on tool software. If you haven't been following , my guess is this technology will be a staple in wood shops in the future.

I finally got a few hours to tinker with my Shaper.  I made kerf inserts for my bandsaw from 6mm UHMW.  It took some tinkering, the time I spent looking at the various videos certainly came in handi.  Next project is to use the coping function to make table saw inserts.

Ditto - I've had mine for about a month and only plugged it in twice.

Had to make a tablesaw jig yesterday that needed 2 slots for sliding clamps (toilet bolts & knobs) so I used the onboard shapes to cut a 1/2" wide slot 1/4" deep and then a 1/4" slot all the way thru. Presto - took me an hour to do 10 minutes worth of work including the learning curve.  [big grin]

Looking forward to really digging in once some other projects are done. And spring finally arrives, it's raining sideways here.
