Anyone try the new pro industrial water Alkyd line yet? The pro classic water alkyd I've used hasn't been working for me too well. Long cure time and too thin for my liking. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the new pro line compared to the pro classic line (water alkyds) For reference I've been using my graco airless gun with they're new fine finish 310 tip line

I've used the Waterborne Alkyd Urethane on several trim packs/projects. It does take quite awhile to fully cure, but the finish is extremely durable when it's fully cured. It's also more forgiving to use compared to BM Advance.

Unfortunately, I've had issues with the product bubbling shortly after application in area where filler was used. This was after priming with SW Premium Wall and Wood. SW thinks it was a reaction to the Elmers wood filler that I used.

PNW, Timbermate filler might solve your bubbling problem, its water and clay based. Hard to find what's actually in the Elmer's product but your not the first I've heard having issues.

At this point I haven't used Timbermate enough to use it on larger projects, plus very few stores stock it.

In the instance I mentioned I was skim coating 2 book shelves. The GC that built them used very cheap ply. 3 coats of SW Premium Wall and Wood wasn't enough to fill/hide the grain, so I skimmed everything with Elmers.

PNW I had bubbling issues with the pro classic water alkyd as well, it was prepped with wall and primer like you. It bubbled on a filler spot, I recall mixing sawdust with titebond then sanded down when cured the next day on the fillers. I'm wondering if they're new pro industrial water alkyd uses a better formula

My issues were with the Pro Industrial Waterborne Alkyd Urethane and not ProClassic. It's happened twice and the projects were over 6 months apart.

It's unfortunate, because I really liked the product, but after having issues on two separate projects I'm now using other products for all future work.
