I have a lot of festool sanders. A few months ago I got this but finally just used it.

I sold my ETS and bought the ETS EC 150/3. I cannot say enough good things about this tool. If you have considered it, buy it. If you have a ETS 150, sell it or put it on a higher shelf, this tool is just fantastic.

I was building a conceptual model for Arch school, doug fir/ cherry.

Its like driving an audi again.

What do you find better?  Noise?  Vibration?  Dust collection?  Ergonomics?  Miscellaneous beeps and doo-dads?

All of the above, except dust collection, which I don't think is any better or worse than the older version.

Recently bought the ets ec150/3. Was always 1st choice tho i did try the deros, it's nearest competitor for a side by side. Didn't like a few things about it. The paddle switch arrangement and speed selection was it for me. Also the pad swapping bolt accessible through the rubber brake sleeve, didn't like that either. The ec just felt right everywhere and I think it's by far the best RO sander out there.  Will still keep my very old and used ets 150 but it won't get used as much now.
Like driving a Jag I think.

I think that its ergonomics and power. Experiencing a sander is full of nuance but I think thats what I'm feeling. I noticed it worked quickly and comfortably. I shamefully didn't even drag my CT26 or MIDI out, I was going commando and it still felt incredible.

Between the ETS EC and Deros it usually depends on whether you like the air sander ergonomics or not. For me an electric sander with the paddle switch that I can feather rpm is just what I have always wanted, I love air sanders but with zero dust collection they aren't an option.  For me it is like driving a Toroidion but they are both excellent sanders and probably the only ones deserving of being the the GOAT electric ROS.

Just used my 150 ETC EC for the first time today.
First Festool purchase along with a RO90 & a CT 48. Hurt a little, but they are so nice to work with & the dust collection is superb.
Super smooth and relatively quiet. Much easier to work than the other 150's, especially the RO.
Looking forward to running it longer than just a test.
Waiting on abrasives to arrive, as this one was unfortunately missing the sample pack.

Was looking for a finish sander to compliment the RO90 and Bosch's "Rotex" 6incher.  Your post (plus a few other threads & YouTube) helped me pull the trigger.  Hope it gets here in time to do the final touches on a desk I'm currently building.

Thanks!
