I'm sure you all know this but Festool is a slippery slope...
I purchased a Kapex saw and although stunned by the price when I first saw it, I bought it and after only a day loved the ease of use and accuracy.
The next week I had to get a CT Midi dust collector so the Kapex could "breathe easier" and keep my bench cleaner.
Now I'm lusting after an OF 1010 router and maybe an RO 125 sander and then there are those cool little cordless drills.......

I read people saying that for the last 3 years... bought plenty of other Festool first, didn't think I needed a Domino.
Then I had a project it was perfect for and I bought one.  Then I scratched my head wondering why I hadn't found an excuse to get one sooner.

I picked up one of the newer Midis recently and it rocks!  Check out the 36mm hose - if you don't already have one.
It really helps on the Kapex, tracksaws and bigger routers.  The 27mm hose is great for sanders, domino and smaller routers, but I found a big improvement on the OF1400 and Kapex with the bigger hose.

The 'little cordless drills' if you're talking about the CXS - it's awesome!  I use that sucker on almost any project I do.
And for the Rotex - unless you have size constraints - check out the RO150 as well.  My opinion is get that one first.  The 6" discs make the work go crazy fast and the 150 is supposed to be a bit easier to control than the 125.
Keep in mind which finish sander you'd want to pair it with.  Helps minimize the formats of sandpaper you need to stock.

Domino was a game changer for me. All other festools just made me more precise or quicker, but the Domino enabled me to do things (mortice & tenon) with confidence that I prior skipped out of knowing that I suck too much to get these kind of things done properly enough...

- Don’t worry, just buy something else (special) Festool! I did - got the CS 50 instead of a Domino.. to the contrary of other I know, they are “missing” a CS 50! I don’t even own the wholly grail; a TS 55 - there’s a time for everything. Buy what you need and not what you just want and end up not affording the tools you need.. [blink]

It is a slippery slope and you will end buying things you maybe don't need. You may also become fiercely loyal to the brand in a cult kinda way and insist on Festool when there are more suitable options out there. Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff but you could be years away from the return to rationality.

I started with a domino and ct midi 3 years ago. Ive been slowly adding tools as needed for furniture and cabinet making. I now have 9 tools and only plan on 2 or 3 more. There are certain tools i just wont buy from them (kapex, drills, jigsaw, etc) If it doesnt require dust collection or need to work as part of that "system" then i often lean towards other brands.

Festool makes 2 things: clever problem solving tools, and over-engineered gimmicks. Do yourself a favor and buy smart! [emoji16]

I actually love my Festool Drill/Drivers, sheperd80. Same for the Centrotec system. But yes, there are many good options for D/Ds out there!

This addiction is worse than I thought.  In a month have gone from zero Festools to Kapex, CT Midi, ETS125 and soon to be arriving OF 1010. And all I started out to do was make some laundry room cabinets...

Get the RO 90 and RO 150 instead  [wink]. Word is that the RO 125 is harder to handle than the 150. There is also more available in 150mm. But then you obviously need the RO 90 for where the 150 does not fit.  [tongue]
