BTW, regarding the Bessey heavy duty lever clamps: it looks like Wilton re-brands these, and they can be purchased for as little as $36.34 each (4 inch) or $43.60 (8 inch):

Received my pair of 24" today. Best packaging job from Amazon that I've ever seen on the Bessey clamps--a factory box inside another box. No damage, quite unlike past shipments where Bessey clamps were loose in a single box that had been trashed (had holes and tears, etc.). Thanks for the heads-up on this sale!

the Bessey lever clamp is made different as it is stouter than the Wilton IMO as the ratchet bar is thicker & the finger release lever & the handles are made thickeramt said:
comparing the one in the Wilton pix To what I have in my hand the build is just better just more stout , in fact using the Bessey on wood you can leave a mark very easy as they will clamp down extremely hard
so add in the $6.40+ that VeryCoolTools charges for the 8" , I'd say they were a better buy , learned a lesson on less quality clamps , in the long run it's better with the best , much like a Festool
Bessey has a 4" so If you email VeryCoolTool they say they can get any Bessey clamp
in fact I think I'm gonna order some of the 4" now that I see they have them , I never can have too many quality clamps

I had that happen with a order of 4 of the 4 Bessy 40"ers from WoodCraft , no packing material at all in the box & one of the 40"ers had the handle busted clean off , I called , complained & they sent me a new 40" clamp & let me keep the busted one , which I made a wood dowel handle for & now it works great .SRSemenza said:Phred said:

soon I'll 13 of the 40"ers when my 8 from this deal gets here ,
BUT It was nice that WoodCraft stepped up replaced the clamp no questions & no need to return the busted one , So I can't be pissed with them at all .

My 2 sets of 40's arrived today and I had the opposite experience - well sort of. One set of clamps was inside another shipping box and the other set was just sent in it's own box and as you can guess, that box is all torn up with holes on both ends. I didn't get a chance to open the boxes yet to inspect the insides. I'm not sure why AMZN used two different packaging processes.

My two sets of 40's are showing out for delivery today on UPS. I'll update arrival condition here upon receipt.
Like other folks, my 24's were very well packed. Each set in its own box within Amazon's outer box. Hopefully the 40's will be similar. [unsure]

The set of two is currently at $66.52 on Amazon (works out to $33.26 each).... still a good deal, but not as good as the original Hot Deal. [sad]
Slappy, good catch. It looks like the Wiltons are knock-offs. It's amazing how similar they make them to be, even using the same model number. I searched around and found a supplier for these (knock offs) and they are made in China. I'll be sticking with the real thing (Bessey and Festool).

Yesterday I got one saying that the 40s were about to be shipped, but this morning they are saying they need me to reenter my credit card info because there was trouble with my card. I checked my AMEX and the payment for the 24s went though, but not the payment for the 2 - 40s. I was under the impression that I paid for them all at once.
I wonder if they have over sold the 40" clamps and are looking to cancel some orders?

As I originally stated... not a great deal.. or a deal at all! [crying]
Oh... and they want $11.49 cheapest way shipping to send 100 Miles from Miami to my house for ONE. Can't imagine what it would cost to ship even further! (Amazon - free shipping with Prime) [scared]

I sent a email to VerySuperCollTools about 6 each of the lc-4 Bessey clamps I'll get back to Ya on what they charge me I got 4 of the 8" & 2 of the 12" last week . these things are way better & faster than any C-clamp I now have , they are gonna make my glue ups go much faster .amt said:
