Soft maple cabinet atop an African Mahogany base. Inspired by a [attachimg=#]Fine Woodworking article showing a Krenov inspired cabinet, I used every Festool in my garage - TS55, 125 sander, table, 1100 router, etc. A fun and challenging project, it is the first thing that I ever built just for fun! In other words, I have no place to put it, I have no one in mind for a gift, no family member expressed a need... [cool] Feedback?

I LOVE the pattern of the wood on that base, and the finish, just beautiful.  I like this piece a lot.

Firstly,  [welcome] to the FOG.

Nice looking project and I have a question, why are the meeting stiles of the doors not full length?
Was that a Krenov feature? I'm not that well read on Krenov to know either way.

Great first post, hope to see some more.  [big grin]

Rob.

Thanks for posting

I Like the clean lines of the design, it allows to wood to do the talking.
Are the glass panels beveled ? If so what's the mounting detail ?
Which finish did you use ?
Are there any in the process pics ?

Nice project - I have no doubt it will find a good home!  And  [welcome] to the FOG.

Great-looking piece. I read the Krenov article, and yes, that is the plans treat the lower rail.

Welcome to the FOG.  [welcome]

Thanks for all of the kind words of encouragement and support!!!

The finish is shellac, Danish oil and wax.

The stiles design is purposeful, to give the appearance of more height.  Yes, it is a Krenov technique.

The glass doors use beveled glass. Frankly, the glass cost more than the wood. I don't know how to answer the question regarding the mounting of the glass, so here's a picture.[attachimg=#]

I do not have pictures in process but thanks for the comment. I'll know to take some next time.
