Some MFT Mods

mhch - Nice boom arm! I think I like it better than mine. I like the extra lighting idea.

Thanks Qwas,
Hoope you had a nice weekend.

Corwin's suggestion is real great: no more diving under the MFT to activate the vac
when needed !

Thanks. I'm glad the ideas can be helpful.

The pictures don't show up for non-members.

Be sure to read about my rail alignment ideas here . It starts out confused but gets better as you go. This will give you a whole bunch of new ideas to run with. Feel free to use what ever you want. That's what the FOG is all about.

Bienvenue a FOG, Omer.

Thank you for the link to www.cyberbricoleur.com.

Note to Qwas:  The pictures are displayed when you click on the Image icon.

Thanks Ned, that worked.

I'm really impressed Omer. Great job! I don't think you copied our ideas more than improved our ideas.

I would like to copy some of your pictures and add them to my thread on the rail alignment.

Thank's for your comments.
Qwas: take and use all the pictures you need: it's your thread!
:)

Where did you get the clips? Are they designed for large wiring bundles?
Thanks

I found them in a well known DIY store here in France, in the PVC pipe department.
Several diameters are available, although I don't remember what they are.
I guess they are used to secure the pipes to the walls, similarly to those
brass devices used to secure brass pipes.

They are normally meant to be tightly clipped around the pipe, so it's not
possible to open them later. But if not clipped tight they can easily
be unclipped as needed, which is very handy to attach the hose to a
boom arm so it can be removed if needed.

I have no idea of what load they are designed for, which could be the major
issue to attach big wire bundles. but they are likely quite solid. I have some
spare ones and I can easily give it a try to see how solid they are.

BTW, I just remembered that the company I got the gorilla sleeve
the black material around the hose and the power cable) from,
markets many products just meant to organize cables. I would
not  be surprised you find what you need from them:http://cableorganizer.com/

Thanks for the all good suggestions.  Here are some shots of my saws holster with the measurements in case someone is interested in making one.

Looks real nice and thanks for the measurements.

I like how you store the extra blades. I think I'm going to do that also.

Hi,

I take it , that attaches to the MFT with the two knobs shown in the last pic?    Also, do the jig saw blades get stored in it somewhere too?

Seth

Thanks,
Yes it attaches to rail via the knobs,  5/16" and it is very easy to slide on and off.  As for the Jig saw blades I am currently using one of those Dewalt small organizer boxes.  I will soon be putting them in a sortainer just for consumables.

Thanks Omer. I think you understand my principles, keep it simple, cheap but functional.

Is there a way to recover the larger images? Most of the older posts
do that. kind of beat.  [unsure]
