Some New and Revamped Kit from Bessey

Hi Everyone

Our UK "Mr Bessey", Mike Clegg, whom I meet at various shows, dropped in and I managed to get him to say a few things about 3 of the new clamps. Here is the video:


I had no chance to re-shoot any of the scenes as he was only here for a short time.

I did get the new Gearclamps from Bessey and decided on the short ones (150mm) but I am honestly not that impressed with them.

A bit finicky and in many cases you do need two hands to get them in place. For clamping of small and finicky items they don't work well - mostly due to the joint of the clamp head messing about with small objects being clamped.

This is not unique to the Bessey clamp though, some times a fixed clamp head (both sides fixed) just works better. I have a lot of other Bessey clamps and was going to replace two of my KliKlamps with the new ones but ended up reverting back to the KliKlamp. I do keep one of the new ones in the on site kit though.

Overall I am very happy with my Bessy clamps but I don't think the Gearclamps are all that great. A little over engineered perhaps.

Thanks for the review Henrik. Over here we just received email from Bessey about the gearclamps. Guess they'll start selling them here soon.
