Some new Wera goodness!

Their phillips and pozi screwdrivers are the best in my opinion.  People rave about their slotted drivers, but I much prefer gunsmith and cabinetmaking style tips.  Coincidentally, their slotted bits are of that style.

What is the difference between their slotted drivers and the gunsmith style tips?  I have their 1 and 2" straight bits and they have a concave grind on both sides so the part engaging the screw has a squared off profile (rather than a wedge).  I don't have any of their straight drivers, but I had assumed they would be designed in a similar fashion.  So maybe I don't understand what you mean by the gunsmith style tips?  Or maybe their drivers are machined differently than their bits?

I like the bits, I'm on the fence about the screwdrivers.  I hardly use either, though.

I'm seriously considering the Wiha 20 piece soft grip set.  Item #30299.  These are made in Germany.

Thanks [member=19475]yetihunter[/member] for the heads-up on the sale!  Just the type of set I was looking to get a good price on.  Handles look similar to the Felo 5-pc set I bought a few years ago, so hope they are just as comfortable in the hand.

To answer about the Felo comparison, if you're refering to the squishy "Ergonic" line, no, they are not like that.  Just your standard overmolding (simlar to festool's DWC or PDC).  Speaking of molds, Wiha molds the handles directly onto the shank (most companies use a press to push the driver blade into the handle).

If you guys really want to nerd it up, I spotted the generic Bost (Facom) screwdrivers at the Festool USA HQ.  They were probably branded SK.  I think I also saw one or two Facom Ergotwist (long discontinued and same factory) screwdrivers. 

You can still find the Bost screwdrivers as Britool, Stanley (uk/europe), and maybe Draper.  But in the US, Stanley went out of their way to offer a knockoff version from China of...modern Stanley quality? :0

The Ergotwist, unfortunately, is extinct.

Since y'all are going full blown German hand tool; ' toolguyd4life ' is the permanent 10% coupon at KC Tool .  They've um...expanded just a tiny bit since the days they only sold Knipex and Wiha.  Be forewarned, in North America, Gedore, Hazet, and Stahwille, specifically, sell for 2 to 3 times the amount that the rest of the world pays.

The set arrived today- they feel similar to the Felo except no 'squishiness'.  I think they are keepers!

Good idea using a sortainer to store yer Wera stuff.

I have a sortainainer with some empty drawer. I think Ill follow your lead and use the empty drawers to stroe and organize my Wera stuff.

Ive been reorganizing my shop and thats a great idea as I have my sortainers stored under my MFTs. It will save me a walk to the roll away.

Plus that socket set and wrench set is pretty slick.

Ill take a photo of my insulated screw driver set and post it.

Hi Cheese.
They (metric) are chrome plated. The Imperial Set is Black High Strength Tool Steel according to dealer website.
I stand to be corrected but I thought stainless steel processing weakened the strength.
