Some screen doors

Five doors for this house (no picture of 5th one it is from the house to the garage).  Owners hated not being able to open up the Andersen full view single french doors and they hated the Andersen screen doors even more.

They were all mahogany, hardware is solid brass in a oil rubbed finish, they have removable screen panels and the screen is in two sections in the frames.  Doors are traditional mortise and tenon construction.

I had to add stops to these Andersen doors, which had aluminum extension jambs and made the install a real pia.

They came out real nice Darcy, I've got a few of those coming up, although my screens will not be 'easily' removable.

The screen frames were sat into a rebate on the door frames and had a rebate to lip over the door. The screen piping is covered by the door rebate.  Frames are held to door with 4 screws that match the hardware (choices for this sucked).  This gives them the option to add a glass panel if they so choose.

Looks like it's part of the house and not an after thought.

Clean work!

Those are real nice!  Thanks for sharing the photos.

Did you use some of those nice old tools you have?

Thanks, Mike
