HI,
I wanted to get a --tainer to put my MFT clamps and  a few things into. So I went and got the SORtainer with the four drawers in it #491-522.
I brought it home and discovered that I doesn't connect with my tool SYStainers...same size, color, etc. but they don't connect?! What's that all about? I wish that this was mentioned in the catalog, or the guy at the store had mentioned it. The Catalog (2013) doesn't mention this at all. It goes on about how it all works together for portability, storage, "plus durable latches provide secure connection points for stacking multiple units, or for attachment to CT Dust Extractors and other mobility options."
Just don't try to connect the Sortainer to the Systainer because you can't. Which means that now, I have to stack my systainers on the vac, and carry the sortainer, or make an extra trip.
Or is there some latch I'm not clicking here? I've tried to get them to connect but the Sortainer just won't click in. Don't get the rationale behind this one, but I'm not very happy about it especially when they're so darn expensive for a plastic box.

The sortainers will only connect on the bottom of a T-Loc. That doesn't matter though because they have drawers.

Tom

EDIT:
Flip up the green latches in front, slide the T-Loc into them from the back, open the white latches on the back of the sides of the sort', pull them up, and latch them to the systainer.

Every Sortainer has 4 latches, 2 coloured and 2 grey.
I Assume your Sortainer also has them just like the picture below.
The Sortainer and Classic Systainer only fit UNDER a T-Loc systainer.
The Sortainer fits under or above the Classic Systainer.
Hope you can figure it out now.

Selfish me likes the way Sortainers latch. Mine are very heavy and tend to be mostly stationery - so a solid latching system is more important than quick and flexible.

Anyway, the OP's problem is a simple stacking order issue. Original Systainers and Sortainers to the bottom, T-Locs in the middle and things with handles above go on top. Maxi's go to the very bottom.

Hey Kev,

Maybe ya ought to show us another photo of your systainer/sortainer collection..

You are da man doood  [big grin]

I'm just in the midst of reorganising - I'll snap you a couple of shots shortly.

Thanks everyone, I'll check it out and retry the bottom up system. I was worried about the weight of tools and such on top of the drawers, but I'll see if I can get them to latch. thanks for the help guys. [smile]
