Spike TV's "Framework" Show features Jory Brigham and other furniture designers

I wasn't going to tell; honestly Mr. Shane.  Please don't  [ban] [ban] me!

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.  The commercials suck.

freddy's piece was very clean and dynamic, lacey's seat looks like a bar of soap carved into a tub tilted sideways, jason makes the best "i know what im talking about faces". rahil made a sculpture and jori was safe due to his history of great craftsmanship.

Gotta tell you guys... after all the hype on the show about getting your work in a CB2 showroom (who I had never heard of), I checked out their website and looked around at their offerings.  Not a thing impressed me. Where do they get this high and mighty reputation. Most of the stuff I saw on the site is pretty basic, and not very esthetic.

Maybe it's just me, but not impressed.  Jory and some of the other's work is wayyyy beyond CB2.

Glad Jory made it though...but he was in the middle of the pack, not at the bottom in the end.

Cheers,

Frank

Frank - CB2 is a trendy sister furniture chain to Crate and Barrel.  No doubt Spike was looking for a national sponsor and CB2 was one of the few national furniture chains that could do it.  I think Room and Board could be another, but neither t live up the quality of work that Jory does, and likely many others who are competing.

Better than Ikea with national exposure!

CB2 is a Crate & Barrel company, so it is a pretty big deal as far as national brand recognition.

*Edit*  Whoops, I didn't see that NeilC said the same thing.

Hey Jory, who brought all the festools?
I know you like em and Freddy, but was there a list of tools that everyone can ask for? Or do the contestants bring there own tools?

Chuck,

Festool was asked to be part of the show in a non-paid capacity, as many of the contestants like working with our tools.  We provided the tools for use by the contestants.
thanks Shane,
So answer this if you will, did they/you pick every item from the catalogue,or did the participants get to choose?
Festool is getting a lot of time on the show, but I think you have to know what your looking at to know what tool it is.
Thanks,chuck
so still curious about the tool selection.
Did you bring every item in the book,or just a select few?
Thanks,Chuck

Chuck, I think we just sent an assortment of tools but I wasn't involved directly so I don't know for sure.

Interesting. I guess Rahil enjoyed using the tools then. It's been fun watching the shows and live tweeting with the contestants and fans. While I am a Jory fan, I think all of the contestants have shown creativity and it's just good to see the craft being brought into mainstream TV. I worry sometimes that with all of the technology and stuff in the world today that important skills will not survive the generations like they once did. These shows help make it relevant again.
