Spike TV's "Framework" Show features Jory Brigham and other furniture designers

Congrats Jory.  Those pieces were fantastic.  I think Freddie did a great job with his ideas, but the concrete/live edge really brought you over the top.  Well deserved and hopefully you can relax and enjoy it now!

The concrete, and the risk involved in executing it, was awesome but I think the key was the consistency through the entire competition. Again great job can't imagine how it must make a craftsman feel.

Congrats on the win!  The craftsmanship was excellent and all of your pieces reflected what a great designer and builder you are.  Plus you did it with class.

I could not be more pleased with the outcome.  Congratulations, Jory!  It was well deserved.

At the end of the episode, they immediately rolled into an episode of COPS.

Thank goodness there wasn't the dreaded epilogue, "One week later..." from Ellen's show.

Jory, amazing designs and craftsmanship. You deserved the win and happy you could put the 1-up on that obnoxious Freddy. Congrats!

Great job Jory!!!!!!!

I think that they hyped Freddie to keep it interesting & build drama but it was not close at all. You took a big risk but calculated that risk with extra concrete pieces. Brilliant.

Curtis was right, your work is not obvious but draws you in because it is so compelling that you want to touch it and understand it's construction and function. A person wants to interact with your work.

You honored your dad by bringing the work ethic he mentored for you. Witness that you brought three very strong FURNITURE pieces, not two half a$$ed pieces or a chair and 2 accessories. All completed with a high level of fit and finish even thou it was a team effort and B.K. was back on the team as a wild card.

It was great fun watching you translate your voice into a completed piece every week.
Enjoy your win and continue to keep true to that voice brother.

Jory was certainly the outstanding design + build winner...congratulations, great work at pulling the best team together!  [big grin]

CONGRATS Jory!

This is not just a win for you… it is a WIN for the craft!  I'd say it is also a win for humankind as you demonstrated class throughout, and didn't opt for the cutthroat tactics too often applied in "reality" shows.

As I have said before, the greatest build us woodworkers will ever endeavor is us as people with the finished project on for display throughout our lives.  Your character and integrity as a person shined throughout!  In a world full of warped reality, it is good there are still those who demonstrate good sportsmanship and can be good role models for the next generation.

It had to be a lot of work to keep your head up at times and not get sucked into the vortex.  I can only imagine that networks and producers are ever plotting to try and create an environment that fosters fighting and "drama" for their viewership.  I assume they tape hours and hours of interviews trying to scour for the most dramatic scenes to edit in. With all of these factors, you still executed with class and are completely deserving of the win on all accounts.

You and your family should be proud.

Congrats Jory, I am a fan of your designs, and each one of your builds on the show has me baffled on how you can complete them in 24 hours’ time, just incredible!

I’d love to see what the other table would have looked like next to the one you were able to finish!

You definitely deserve the win and I hope it brings Jory Brigham designs where you want to take it!

Jory, first off congrats.  Secondly, have you seen an impact / do you expect to see an impact with your business due to all this "fame"?

I kept telling my wife that the show had to talk up Freddy at the end, to keep the suspense high.  She was so irritated that she said she was throwing the remote at the TV if they announced Freddy as the winner.

It was nice to find a show about woodworking that got her interest, and not just mine.

And finally, congratulations Jory.  Your work has been a real inspiration to me.  I am building a wall of base cabinets for a study remodel.  It currently has no drawers -- it is really kind of a low bookcase that will house my old retro stereo (turntable!), and a bunch of vinyl albums.  But now I keep envisioning it with wavy-front drawers!

We loved all the projects you did throughout the show, and knew you would win (at least I did ...)  ;D

Congrats Jory!  Not only on the win but also on exhibiting the drive and poise that will work in your favor towards even greater success!

The judges were really weird, but I guess that makes for great TV today.  One minute they were commenting on all the issues they saw with a mirror surrounded by a "plaid" frame and then later it was said that it was well executed.  Gag me.  Twice.  Then wrap me in a plaid flannel shirt and toss me in the trash can.

May the win and exposure allow you to explore, experiment, implement, grow and prosper.  All the best to you and your family.

I'm going to buy a bowtie and see if your luck rubs off!  [thumbs up]

It was interesting how they made such a big deal regarding the prestige of being featured in CB2. From what I understand, after doing a Google search, they are the lower cost spinoff of Crate & Barrel targeting the 20-something market. Whereas, Crate & Barrel features mid-priced, moderately upscale showrooms.

I work in a  2-man shop. We do quite a bit of touchup and service work on furniture, and much of that being for high end manufacturers, showrooms, interior designers, and their clients. Having the opportunity to see and work on pieces from this end of the furnishings scale, it seems to me that CB2 may not be the best place to market the great designs of Jory's. I've seen how nice designs can be dumbified by manufacturers to suit a market or budget and that may not be a good thing.

Congrats Jory! It was a well deserved win.

The wife and I like to watch it on the DVR because we pause frequently to discuss likes and dislikes, design pros and cons, stupidity of comments, etc... :)

For most of the show I felt like Freddy was a jerk, but then I thought that maybe he just has a snarky sense of humor and it is getting amplified by the producers to increase drama. In the end I thought he would probably be someone I'd get along with. Did you or you plan on maintaining any connections/acquaintances/friendships after the show?

Congrats Jory - excellent work all around.  It was great to see you remain calm under pressure, even if you did a lot of running on the shows!

Hope this win does great things for your business.
