Does anyone use  their spindle moulder/shaper    for routing  with the 10,000rpm  and how do you rate  this  set up?
Many Thanks.

I tried this many years ago and 10000 rpm is just too slow even for the largest router bits.  For small diameter bits, the setup is useless.  For the large diameter bits, the performance is marginal at that speed.  I used to have a Felder combo with the router spindle that I could get to 15000 rpm and that worked well for the large diameter bits and not so well for small diameter.  I would not bother with this setup if the max speed was 10000 rpm as you will most likely be very disappointed.

A lot of people do it, but it never worked for me. Bits were hard to change, cuts were not very good.
Router bits work best in a router & shaper cutters work best on a shaper.
