I have installed new splinter guards on my rails after changing my fine tooth blade to a panther blade on my ts 55 and wanted to see if anyone had the same problem after installing the panther blade it taking off more material on the splinter guard due to the panthers kerf being thicker? And does anyone have any tips on installing new splinter guards as with my install the ends kept peeling off to a point where I had to tape them up with masking tape. Will be picking up more guards next week so Thanx in advance.

The panther blade does have a wider kerf.  If you search around you will find that is a turn off to many here - including myself.  I have switched over to a Tenyru ripping blade that was designed with the same width kerf.

Just like you I have never had success reattaching the splinter guards while trying to move them.  People here have used everything from double sided tape to spray adhesive.

The new translucent strips have a different type of adhesive that was designed to stay on the strip better when repositioning.  If you have the black strips on know, I predict that you will like the new ones better.  I switched mine out, but haven't had the need to reposition them yet.

I'll try and find some of various suggestions and post later.

great, thanks a lot guys,  will give it ago with the clear guards and order a tenryu rip blade also, got two new blades from tenryu for my kapex just havent had the time to pick them up from my supplier but hear they are great according to some reviews here on the FOG.

McMaster sells 20mm arbor shims in various thicknesses if that helps. I have a  Makita SP6000 and was able to convert it to use 5/8" arbor (instead of odd ball 20mm) Freud blades using these shims.
