So I was doing some experimenting and decided to try and spray some stain.
I made a mixture of 50% General Finishes High Performance top coat and 50% General Finishes Water based Brown Mahogany stain and added 10% water so it would not dry as quick and flow better. Applied the first coat on 1/8" maple veneer without sealing, let dry, lightly sanded with 320 and then applied a second coat, same mixture and the results are in the photos. Now it will be sanded with 320 again and a clear coat, not stained, will be applied. It was sprayed with the Earlex 5500 with the 1.5mm needle. Showed the client, they love it. Matches their island in the kitchen, This will be the colour of their master bathroom vanity.
Cheers,
JC
