Stairs "floating" oak.

"just a point of interest...you know they've been discontinued...correct? "

kinda like that pro5 , huh ?  [tongue]

[member=61604]RickyL[/member] - pro5 is kinda an inside joke for us yanks.

sander linky

In case you've not been at the FOG recently - this sander debuted and was offered for roughly 70 quid and it came with a 75 pound rebate on a future purchase.  The global supply was gone in a matter of hours and FT couldn't believe it.  ???

There are at least 25 pages of talk about it if you want a laugh or heartburn while reading with your Scotch.  People are still torqued out about not being able to get one or having to wait until end of Q1 -2017 to take delivery.  And some are torqued about their country not getting a promotion at all.

Was it a mistake? So effectively people were getting it for free?

Shame I missed out on that deal!  [laughing]

Was it a mistake depends on your perspective.  The price was not a an oversight if that's what you're asking.  The promo did not have the effect FT intended though.  Was generally a headache for everyone except two hundred or so people; I'm guessing.

Deal wasn't available to you or anyone else outside the U.S. and Canada.

You really should read the PRO5 thread(s) here because it will become lore around here for years to come.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] Looks like you could have a real party on those stairs with those lights!

Hey [member=37411]Edward A Reno III[/member] , it looks more dramatic in a photo than in real life.  [eek]  The LED's actually appear to be more white than blue/purple. However, it is a nice feature when you need to go downstairs in the middle of the night. The lights are on a 15 minute timer so one button push is all you need, after that, they take care of themselves.
The light level is low enough and focused enough not to disturb the wife or the members of the in-house petting zoo.  [thumbs up]

Nice stairs  but  not that safe  with no hand rails.
And if your  like me  this year with broken  legs  from two  separate building site falls  off roofs  then two  hand  rails  are important.
When you get old and infirm that's another matter.

Beautiful work, very jealous,
[member=15545]Lbob131[/member] it sounds like you should stay be staying at ground level

If they were the main stair I would put a second rail on the wall, but these are just in a bedroom.

You can use the verticle uprights as a hand rail I guess. They under tension so don't flex much.

Very nice. Are they a US based thing? I've not seen them here in the UK. I have "Lightwave" which is very similar by the sounds, but UK.

FWIW...here's the keypad and the switching module I mentioned.

Just found out today that Smartlabs the manufacturer of Smarthome & Insteon products is no longer in business.  [mad] This is the latest information from June 10th, 2022.
