Was wondering what the best solution is for softening the sharp edge of the melamine coated ply I've been using to resurface a large table (product is called Colorfin: Baltic Birch with a melamine-like coating).

I see there are a variety of bevel trim bits, ranging from 7 to 20 degrees, and some with an attached ball bearing and others with an in-built bearing.  After getting the edges just right with the Whiteside ultimate trim bit, I don't want to use a subpar bit that risks chipping the edge.

EDIT: Or is it better to use a radius bit on laminate?

I really hope I never have to work with laminate ever again after this.  Wood veneer ply is much more satisfying to work with, and you don't have to stress out every time you lay your tools on the surface.  No bloody, sliced finger tips either.

Thanks.
