What is the proper storage of the rails?  Currently I'm storing them on a shelf in the boxes they came in.  They overhang on both sides by less than 2 feet.  Is this OK between uses?

I've stored my shop rails like this on simple hooks attached to my shop's overhead door for years.  My "field rails" ride around in my work truck unprotected with no damage.
The rails really are stout and difficult to damage.

Erock had a cool looking homemade bracket in the back of a few of his videos with a long rail on the wall. Not sure if you're familiar with him, but hopefully he'll turn up and enlighten us.

It did look ridiculously simple and is possibly being used by loads of people already.

I hang mine from the hole, and I'm lucky I can hang the 3000, but it is touch and go, and I keep putting things in front of the bottom of it which stops me from swinging it out and no matter how many times I tell myself, I still do it. I'll be going down the wall hanger route once I move some storage out of the way on one of the walls in my workshop.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

I think that you should be OK with them on the shelf.  Hanging is definitely handy though.

I hang the shorter ones from the hole in the end,

but the long one is mounted to the ceiling utilizing the shipping box as a sleeve.
