stripped threads on OF1010 base

In the first weeks after owning the great little OF1010, i managed to strip out one of the screw threads on the base that holds the black little insert that keeps the clear plastic hubble from falling out.
I must say the screws are TX15, and at the time i didn't have (still don't btw) a TX15 screwdriver, which is not a common tool to have imo, so i must use my CXS with a TX15 bit.
So what had to happen, ended up happening and i stripped out one of them.
That was like 6 months ago, even though the thing still works and apprently doesn't cause use problems i would still like to know if i am the only one and if there is a solution?
I tried tapping the thread again with with no success.

Without going and looking at one of my 1010's How about a threaded insert I have threaded inserts that have a left hand thread on the od
