I've found myself worrying, perhaps needlessly, that I was causing my MFTs to sag with all the junk I tend to put on them. I finally decided to add some simple supports. The braces are 80/20 extrusions, model 1020. They were cut to exactly 27" (there is probably a more accurate metric measurement, but 27" worked out perfectly). I was able to attach with t-nuts that slid into the faces of the MFT profile slots (as the slots are closed on the ends). I have not found the braces to interfere much with clamping.

Note that the corner bracket fasteners do not sit flush with the MFT surface...the person I bought them from on eBay sold me the wrong ones (they were not made by 80/20, but they work). The braces themselves do sit flush.
