Support for OF1400

Was trying to do some rabbiting today and found that the OF1400 base is not wide enough to prevent wobble so I started to look for options. I saw that there is a table widener available for the router but at a cost of $116 I decided to pass on that. So the search continued. After a while it came to me to try the Guide Stops that I had to see if they would work. Took out the 2 bars and slid on one guide stop and guess what it works really well and it is 100% even with the base of the router. Now I have a very large table widener and guide stops for my rails. Two tools in one. I love how the Festool system works.

Good question. Hopefully someone with a 2200 router can try it with it's guide stop and base plate and report back.

Great to see another person looking for ways to use the "system"  That has been posted prior but the really cool thing is that it is posted again!  We have so much info here and searches sometimes don't work out they way we want.

You can do a similar thing with the parallel guide for the TS-55 or 75 and have an "outrigger" for those harder to control bevel cuts.

What about scratches?

Good question. I thought about that and my solution is green painters tape on the bottom of the guide. After putting it on, press down hard to thin out the tape on the underside of the guide and don't overlap the tape. Tried it, works perfect.
