I am about to apply the finish to my new workbench top and am not sure if I need  another bulb or not.

The dimensions are is 4ft x 7.5ft.

1) Will there be enough for both sides?

2) Is it ok to finish the backside with light duty oil and the top side with heavy duty oil? I plan on finishing both sides so that moisture movement will hopefully be equal on both sides. If the light duty side allows moisture through at a faster rate than the heavy duty, I'd prefer to buy another bulb of heavy duty.

Thanks.

You can cover quite a bit. I would be surprise if you need more then one bulb.

+1 on Ceddy's post. You will probably make it okay with just the one oil container/bulb.
I've used a lot of my Outdoor oil from my Surfix kit and am now just getting low on it.
I think the sponge applicators use less product than if you were using a rag.

You're good with the product quantity, no harm in using different finish on opposite sides.

Just a note that the first application sucks in the oil. The second coat just sips it. So don't panic to much after the first application. This may be obvious, but had to note it.
