Are any of the Surfix oils "food safe" for wooden salad bowls or plates ?

Without a spec sheet I would say "no way".
Not even on the outside.

Unless we get confirmation from Festool I would not use it on Salad Bowls. In none of the attached documents does it specifically state that Surfix is suitable for products involved in food preparation or presentation. However look at the ingredients list in the Technical Sheet to make further judgement. I can not comment on whether any of the ingredients would, once cured, create a human health hazard. So in my mind there is doubt, so I wouldn't!

Festool should answer this. [member=57769]TylerC[/member]  [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member]

All 3 of the Surfix products contain linseed oil and the outdoor oil also contains ricin oil. [eek] However, they don't specify if it's raw (safe) or boiled (toxic) linseed oil. All 3 versions also contain multiple metallic dryers which I would assume is a no-no.
