I have a very bad addiction already should be part of the three year warranty help line for buying more green and blue tools
any way on the sword saw
Been given a large timber frame green oak building project to build so after trying to cut 200mm square timber with a circular saw turning it four times to just square ends up i ordered the sword saw well what can i say wow very little videos on it i will have to make one it cuts the ends like butter in one then i have made a little box to screw on the sides to rest rail on so i can come in from the end to cut the open mortises with run it in four times 40mm mortise cut i have put a kick back stop on rail to stop the saw a right
depth very little clean up needed the similar  process for the tenon then the rail the other way to cut the shoulders cuts at 90 every  time. There is nothing that would do this on site as well.will try make a video and put some pictures up if i can learn how

To add to the list its good for doing curved oak I use it for that mainly.

I have in the past cut a curve and then just belt sanded the chain saw marks but takes a while so now I just cut the curve and then use a router or spindle moulder with a ply template to clean it up.

Its a brilliant saw for its size and weight.

Only negative is it only angles one way.  The larger saws swing both ways but it comes at a price and are heavier.

So for the money its a good saw I love mine. I don't use it often but when I use it I couldn't be without it!

Next thing you need is the Protool sorry Festool chain saw mortiser! That is brilliant!

Its good food mortising but also housing or half lapping

If doing a truss and you need an angled cut out or mortise just simply make a wedge attach it to the base and plunge away.

Having both them tools for oak beam jobs makes life so much easier and quicker

Fortunately I have one of these, but it seems here in Oz they're no longer selling them due to tool classification and what would result in a massive price hike! [eek] [sad]
