Probably a dumb question, but how many individual containers does the small parts organizer come with and how many is the most it can fit if you buy the additional little boxes separately?
I'm looking for a festool compatible sortimo-style solution for the things that are too big for my sortainer drawers...anything available other than the sys-1 small parts organizers?

No dumb questions, only dumb answers :)

Attached is a photo of the SYS-Box organizer, hope this helps!

Additional bins are all available to purchase to customize your setup too!

498038 - Red x12 - $15.00
498039 - Yellow x6 - $12.00
498040 - Blue x3 - $8.00
498041 - Green x2 - $8.00
498042 - Orange x1 - $11.00

Another one of my favorite Storage Solution boxes is the SYS-Domino, many people don't know about it because it isn't listed under the Storage Solutions section of the Festool Catalog ;)

Additional inserts for each bin are available, at a whopping $0.39 cents each :)

This actually presents a very good storage solution for RO 90 sand paper.  Get 3 additional dividers (coupled with the 3 originally in the box), makes 9 compartments in total, and setting in the sheets vertically.  That you can remove each individual bin separately is also very handy.

I like something like the Stanley, with more boxes with less room in each. Because of the type of work I do I need breadth of choice more than depth (quantities).

Ah I misunderstood.  Thought you outgrew your Sortainer drawers and needed larger storage bins.

In terms of something flatter, with more bins... At the shop we carry Homak Storage Systems, but as far as being Festool integrated, or more specifically in the Festool lineup, probably our closest bet would be either the SYS-Box or Sortainer 12-drawer.

Also, the new SYS-Storage that is coming out Dec. 1st may be worth your consideration...?

Yeah, I use them for plumbing fittings and straps and that sort of thing. It looks like the new sys box allows you to buy extra boxes and fill the whole box up; true? If so, that could be an option.

Yes sir!

For the SYS-Storage...
500066 - Small Container x6 - $11
500067 - Medium Container x4 - $13
500068 - Large Container x2 - $15

If I could trouble you to head over to this thread, there are alot of photos and videos (both provided by Festool USA as well as myself) of the SYS-Storage for your consideration.  Check it out :)

cool, thanks. I assume it's the same size as the regular sys tool box which fits nicely into my truck box. I'll have to put one on the xmas wish list.

*thumbsup

We should be getting our shipment in soon for December 1st product release.  Feel free to come by the shop to check them out :)

The sys-1 box is far the best screw organizer I've had. I use two of them for cabinet installs and they hold just about all my fasteners & small parts. Greatest feature is that they don't mix items with lid shut in transport. The negative is you can't see items when shut. The Stanley organizers would be my second choice.
@ k119phil.    That's a great idea with the domino storage sys....I didn't realize the trays are removable, I assumed they were just dividers. Thanks for the tip!

Ya the SYS-Domino is one of my favorites.  Removable bins and additional dividers makes it hugely adaptable.

If you want visibility, check out the SYS-Storage, part of Festool's Winter Product Release, coming December 1st.  A cantilever style tool box with storage bins and clear covers for visibility with Systainer integration (stacks with Systainers, SYS-Cart, SYS-Roll).  The clear lid also closes flush with the storage bins so items don't mix in transport.  :)

I also didn't realise that the domino systainer has removable boxes nice touch.
I like the look of the new sys storage but if you want it for small parts then your  better off with 2 of the sys1 boxes.
The way I see it the sys 1 box holds 35 of the small boxes where the new cantilever one holds 48 boxes but is twice as tall not including the handle so if you are worried about space you can get almost double the storage for the same space.
To be honest I can't imagine the new cantilever one lasting me very long on site if I was to buy one I'm not the most carefull of people where as on the other hand the sys1 boxes are pretty much bomb proof.

I have gone thru all the different storage options available by festool and most other company's and recently sold all my sortainers as I find they are just to heavy and are not very good on space

A standard sys2 t loc with the changeable dividers are a good option in my opinion
I really do wish they would bring out a sys 2 with taller screw boxes in that would be perfect

Has anyone managed to break one of the cantilever boxes yet

Just my two pence worth

Agree.  I love the SYS-Box for its durability.  If you have the Classic Systainers those're even tougher!

SYS-Storage is not even out yet (in the US).  Coming December 1st!

Do you mean that you get 6 small containers for 11$, or do you mean that it comes with 6 small containers and each additional one is $11 ?

To the best of my current knowledge, for 500066 you would get 6 small containers for $11.  (Does seem awfully "economic" for a Festool purchase huh?!)

These 3 part numbers show up on Festool USA released flyers, but oddly do not show up in our Masterlist (yet?).  Let me confirm tomorrow morning and I'll follow up.

Is this SYS-Domino actually available under a normal Festool part number or is it an EKAT parts only way of getting it?

The empty SORT-SYS DOMINO is sold as a regular item with number 498889 ($85 Amazon).
Separate boxes/reservoirs have EKAT number 700715 (€9,72), dividers with 700716 (€0,38/each).

This picture looks wrong. How can the lid close?
Looks like the T-lock lid uses up more of the volume than the classic lid.

The old Domino Sys has plywood dividers.
