Another one of my favorite Storage Solution boxes is the SYS-Domino, many people don't know about it because it isn't listed under the Storage Solutions section of the Festool Catalog ;)

Additional inserts for each bin are available, at a whopping $0.39 cents each :)

This actually presents a very good storage solution for RO 90 sand paper.  Get 3 additional dividers (coupled with the 3 originally in the box), makes 9 compartments in total, and setting in the sheets vertically.  That you can remove each individual bin separately is also very handy.

Is this SYS-Domino actually available under a normal Festool part number or is it an EKAT parts only way of getting it?

looks like neeleman replied a little quicker than me.  darn timezones  :P

498889 SYS-Domino, $85 USD

I have a couple in stock, as well as the dividers too, PM or call me if you would like to place an order :)

This picture looks wrong. How can the lid close?
Looks like the T-lock lid uses up more of the volume than the classic lid.

The old Domino Sys has plywood dividers.

Picture is correct, lid closes just fine  :)

You're probably right about losing a bit of volume, comparing the container bins versus the old plywood dividers.  But you get just that, removable storage bins that you can send guys off with, as well as the ability to add dividers to size up your compartments.  Personally I strongly prefer the current style over the plywood.

Yeah, I use them for plumbing fittings and straps and that sort of thing. It looks like the new sys box allows you to buy extra boxes and fill the whole box up; true? If so, that could be an option.

Yes sir!

For the SYS-Storage...
500066 - Small Container x6 - $11
500067 - Medium Container x4 - $13
500068 - Large Container x2 - $15

If I could trouble you to head over to this thread, there are alot of photos and videos (both provided by Festool USA as well as myself) of the SYS-Storage for your consideration.  Check it out :)

Do you mean that you get 6 small containers for 11$, or do you mean that it comes with 6 small containers and each additional one is $11 ?

Joseph C,

After speaking with Festool USA earlier today, their answer is consistent with my previous post --- the 3 part numbers are currently NOT listed in Festool USA's masterlist, thus they do not have a definitive answer (yet).  All I can say at this point is speculation that it would be incredibly odd for Festool USA to NOT sell the container bins to support the SYS-Storage, but until these 3 part numbers go live, we dealers will not be able to order at this time.

I'll definitely follow up on this thread once the part numbers go live.

That's a shame.  [crying] I wanted to order one or two of these, and those extra bins at the same time, from my dealer, that way he could include them in the shipment.  Oh well..

Sorry to hear that, but hey! I'll definitely follow up once the container bins become available :)

Just seems too integral a part of the SYS-Storage for Festool USA not to support.

For those curious about previous discussion of SYS-Domino as storage for RO90/DX93 papers, here are photos!
- SYS-Domino
- SYS-Domino container bin + 3 extra divider inserts
- Container w/ +1 insert + 50-sheets DX93 (triangle) paper + 50-sheets RO90 (circle) paper

Are those small boxes for the new sys-storage available in NA yet? I got the toolbox for xmas and would like to get those little compartments now...

to the best of my knowledge... not yet  ??? ??? ???

checking now.  will follow up asap.  thank you very much for your patience and consideration!

Looks like that would make a good screwbox with the extra boxes when closed is there room for screws etc to jump boxes?

When closed the boxes are snug to the top so overspill shouldn't be a problem.

Dave

I have an extra Sys 1 box after combining my Ti15 Basic with the T15 drills into the one basic systainer. I'd like to turn the Sys 1 into a Sys Storage Box with the parts k119 shows in his post here, but would also need the bottom black tray and top foam. Are there US part numbers for those 2 items?

No dumb questions, only dumb answers :)

Attached is a photo of the SYS-Box organizer, hope this helps!

Additional bins are all available to purchase to customize your setup too!

498038 - Red x12 - $15.00
498039 - Yellow x6 - $12.00
498040 - Blue x3 - $8.00
498041 - Green x2 - $8.00
498042 - Orange x1 - $11.00

After looking at this picture, the SYS 1 box (p/n 497694) looks less filling and incomplete.  Are there any plans to offer this insert with the systainer?

Heya Steve,

Wanted to make sure I'm understanding your question (please correct me if I'm wrong) --

If you're asking if the "lid hard foam insert" and "bottom plastic insert" are available to convert an empty SYS-1 Systainer (497563) into a SYS-1 Box (497694) -- short answer is yep!

498043 - SYS-1 Box Bottom Plastic Insert - $6.52
497880 - SYS-1 Box Top Hard Foam Insert - $4.50

We at K-119 also put together a "DIY SYS-1 Box Conversion Set", which includes the colored container bins, as configured in a SYS-1 Box (497694).  All we did was divide out the quantities of the pre-packed containers to get price per unit.

DIY SYS-1 Box Container Bins Set - $36.86
- Includes -
2x Red - $1.25/ea
7x Yellow - $2.00/ea
2x Blue - $2.68/ea
1x Green - $4.00/ea
1x Orange - $11.00/ea

If you add together the DIY Set and both top and bottom inserts, you come up with $47.88 for the conversion.  Less than the $75 for a SYS-1 Box (497694), but of course if you factor in the $63 price of a SYS-1 (497563), you quickly see that Festool Product Managers have already done all the math for us and made purchasing in pre-packaged sets much more cost efficient.

But of course, it makes sense to convert and utilize empty SYS-1's laying around :)

Hope this helps!
