My syslite arrived yesterday. The camera tripod did not work out Kept tripping over it. So tried the Fastcap 3rd hand poll I had. It worked out great very adjustable Tucks into a corner.I used the Laser Magnetic mount but use a Velcro strap to support it Just in case it gets bumped.  Now I would not go buy one just for the light I used it for my laser.

Now you have me thinking about getting two 3rd-hand poles for my lights because the legs prevent me from putting them where I really want them and I trip on them.  -grumble- then maybe a SysLite or two...

The polls are great Like I said they tuck into a corner real tite. The only thing I did not trust was the magnets on the laser mount .Felt safer with the Velcro strapping even though the Lite is heavier than my little Bosch laser I was worried about the Laser falling off more.

It would be nice if there was some kind of low profile magnetic mount offered for the syslite. There are probably a plethora of ways to make one using the tripod threads, but I wanted to put the idea out there.

I have tried the tripod method in my woodshop.  I agree with tonylumps about the tripping over it and not getting it right where wanted, or needed.

Where it did come in very handy was after the hurricane Sandy.  I had a generator set up that I rationed the use of.  I ran it around breakfast time, noon time and dinner time. A total run time of 7 to 9 hours per day.  The dinner run was a little longer and i would shut it down around 8pm.  My wife is a nite owl and likes to read for a few hours long after i am making ZZZ's.  I set up the Syslite on tripod over her favorite chair and she would read on until just about time for the lite to fade out.  When i got up in the am, I just hooked up the lite to house current when i started the generator and she was good to go for the evening run again.  It worked great.

Definitely a nice light.I have a few Streamlight C-4 LED Stinger flashlights and the Syslite was not much more then what they cost me. Replaced all of the non rechargables. Have this light right up to my work and don't have to worry about getting cooked.

If you get the Bosch  pole mounting bracket then you dont have to worry about using a velcro strap to keep it secure.  It will clamp on the fast cap pole im sure.

Does the Bosch mount tilt My johson laser pole mount does not.

No put for like few quid you can get tilting adapters very easily from places like Amazon.  They simply have a a male threaded end and a female threaded end with a ball socket which can be tightened off to keep it in position.
