Well guys, I had sort of an epiphany when someone recently posted about the Festool labels peeling off.  I had several non-Festool tools stored in systainers with no labels.  I downloaded a picture of the unlabeled tool from the distributors site, printed it and then adhered it to the systainer using the drafting film as an overlay.  I tried printing the picture directly on the film using my inkjet but the film was designed for laserjet and didn't work well at all.  The result:

Just thought this tip may be helpful.

Pretty cool Steve.  8) Could you print it at Kinko's directly on the film? Is this printable film available on line somewhere?

Brice,
Did you print directly on the label or cover a paper copy with clear film? Is your home printer laser jet or ink jet?

Mike, I purchased the drafting film on ebay several years ago.  I am pretty sure one of my choices in types was for ink jet but only had a laser jet at the time.  It comes in pretty handy but only when I remember that I have it.  We don't have a Kinko's here so I don't know what their capabilities are.

Mike, I printed right on the label. Check out RippedSheets, they have a lot choices od labels in any color you want, even clear. They also will give you free samples, click on the "Free Samples" tab at the top right of the page.

Well for some reason i couldnt get the picture on my post, but if you want to see what i did to my sustainers, then the picture is in the tempory folder in the gallery (sorry),  Having the same problem of the stickers comming off i decided to laser etch the picture of the tool on the latches,  The picture shows a few of them.  Hope you like!

Here's your picture. How much did this cost?

BTW, check out this link if you are having trouble inserting gallery picutes into your posts. Inserting Gallery Pictures into Posts.

Boy I need you to come organize my shop! I would take the time to do that but the place is so messy I can not see the latches on any of my cases.

Brice- Well I have access to a laser etcher at my job so it dosent cost me anything, but im sure there are companys that use them, and will do it for you.  Some companys charge like a dollar per picture.  The etcher that i use is like 15g's! but ive seen some on the net that are around 50 bucks, there kinda crude, but it might work for pictures.  Just look up laser etcher, or engraver and see what comes up.  I would try to search around an industrial park or something and hopefully you'll find one.  If you like my idea and go for it, good luck with your search.  BTW I got this to work, but i still couldnt get the picture to show on the post.  Ill keep trying with other pictures.  Thanks for the help!
