Systainer used on FOX Terra Nova

I think they ned to put something in them for weight. The way they handle them makes them appear empty.

Perhaps if they figure out the advanced features of a systainer they can then use that knowledge to save the dinosaurs.

Very cool, better than the plastic and paper bags most CSI shows use.

An electrician at work kept calling my t-18 and installers kit my medical kit.... I finally asked what he was talking about and he said they had the same boxes on terra nova. So I had to hulu it to see if he was right and sure enough. Better yet when I showed him I can change the chucks on my drill at will, he stood there dumbfounded for a while. It probably seemed to him that I was from 21-- whatever the show is set in.

A pox on you Seth. I just watched yesterday's recording of Terra Nova and spent the whole movie looking for systainers. Then, I had to watch the show again to find out what the story was about.

Don't get too excited guys.  They also use Nerf guns for their main weaponry.   [laughing]

Good find for the prop master and cheep. All he needed was the Nerf toy gun and some black spray paint.

My little bro took us around the back lot at Paramount once and we happened upon a warehouse with a Star Trek (TNG) shuttle sitting in it. Even from 40 feet away, we could see the lines and filler plugs of the cheap A/C plywood it was built out of.

It's amazing what doesn't come through on a TV screen, at least before the days of HD.....

Hi Guys,

The Terra Nova series has just started here in South Africa. While I was watching I saw someone caring what looked to me like the old style systainer. It was to far in the distance to really make out and my family thought I was being abit obsessive about the whole thing. Later on in the second episode my thoughts where put to rest when there was a nice close-up of the suspect box and it was indeed a old style systainer. It was all grey with the same style handle as Festool use and some other companies i cant remember.

I find it strange though that a show set more then 100 years in the future would be using the old style systainer, when the new t-loc, in my opinion, would fit the future alot better.....

Here are some images i captured using my ipod touch. Let the amazement BEGIN!!!

Wayne,

OK since Wayne is just starting to watch the series, nobody posts spoilers!  [sad]

Maybe when the series comes back on they will upgrade to T-Locs.

Since the Systainers are often shown in the medical area , they really need to get the first aid one (s).  [cool]

They use toy Nerf (or some other toy ) guns painted black, what else is new for production companies.

It would still be interesting to know if they contacted TANOS to get these custom made.

They could be Festool Systainers with the latches swapped out. That would explain the handle. I can't tell from the pics here if the imprint on the Systainer says Festool or Tanos. Maybe there were carpenters on the set, and someone said  'hey those boxes are cool can we use them?'
