systainers redo

is it in the works to redo the drawers systainers so the insides tops do not hang up things in the drawers?  I can't tell you how many times I have shake the little drawers and almost break them to get out the stuff in the drawer.

I carry 5 of them stacked in my commercial van to carry all sorts of stuff.  so they do bounce around.  I have the lid ones that open from top and close with the foam.  but they are a pain because the one you want is always on the bottom

so the drawers always work better, just hangs things up.

So what is in the process of changing them?

Same here, It would be cool if they put a hinged lid on each drawer or something like that

Hi,

  Does stuff get hung up when it bounces up taller than the drawer, and then sticks up into the open structure of the Sortainer?

      If so , is there enough space above the drawer top to glue in pieces of very thin styrene plastic or maybe laminate. So that the Sortainer structure above the drawer is smooth, and closed off?

Same here, It would be cool if they put a hinged lid on each drawer or something like that

Problem with the hinged lid is it will take away some valuable space. As it stands right now my screwdrivers, chisels and pliers barely fit.

I vote for some plastic attached above each drawer or just a smooth surface above the drawer.

seth,  yes that is where it gets stuck.  a smooth serface would be best put the injection molding stuff on the bottom side of the drawers. and then the smooth on top and that would solve the problem

    Yes, it would be a bit of work for a $120 tool box, but it is what it is, and I would still want to make the best of it.

          Another thought- how about filling the injection molded openings with something? Take the drawers out, flip it over , and spread something into the openings. Then smooth it. I don't know, just some ideas.

Try this. I would get the 4# density as you can sculpt it while it cures.

  Pretty cool. Maybe that would work for filling the hollow bottoms of Systainer inserts too?

Yes, I would think so. I havent used any before so that is pure speculation. that has never got me in any trouble though. ;D
