T+15 Torque Question

Bought the T+15 couple of months ago and have used it a few times mainly with large screws.  I used it this weekend to remove and the replace the back on a large wall mirror.  The back was held on with a number of small (~#6 or #8 x 1/2" screws).  I found that when replacing the screws I would strip the holes even with the drill set on a torque setting of 1.  Is this normal?  (and yes I had the top switch on screw and not drill)  I had the centrotec chuck in and found that I could not hold the bit holder with my fingers and stall the drill.  I could stall it if I put the the keyless chuck on and held it.  Just expected the #1 torque setting on the drill to be much lighter.  Thanks for any feedback!

Well, 1/2" screws that were already removed at least once, I would think there is a good chance of stripping them very easily. I guess I'm saying this isn't surprising.

i noticed the torque strength on the lowest setting too,
they market the t12 for small work
