Hi all,
I just got me the DD-DC, and was wondering where I am supposed to place it in my T15+3 box. Actually it fits far better in the compartment where the DD-AS sits normally, just above the spare battery, when delivered as a set.
I bet this is actually the place it's supposed to be. But then I miss space for the DD-AS. I can't really see it fitting on the machine itself during storage and transportation, but you never know. Maybe you guys have spotted the correct fitment for all parts in the sys 1 T15+3 set (with diode lamp)??
See pics. I should add, that there's a small dip in the black plastic for the diodelamp, when mounted on the T15+3.
Since there's room for even the small hexkey under the charger, I take it there ought to be room for the DD-AS as well. I just can't fit it anywhere, and that's why I like the American sys 2 whith lid for this machine.

Cheers,
Jacques.

The moulded insert  that everything snuggles into has a place for the lamp but not for the drywall chuck, an oversight I think, as I will get one fairly soon

I do have one, and actually it fits - well, sort of. You can store the drill in the Euro-style Sys-1 systainer if you simply leave/put  the drywall chuck on the drill, and store the Centrotec head in the supplied hole in the insert.
It is a bit of a hassle, since the standard action of the drill is Centrotec use, in my case. It's only a couple of seconds, but still. I'm gonna get the Protool Sys-2 with attic lid ( I can get a good deal on that one ) to store the T15+3,  there should be plenty of room for the drywall chuck  with the original mould in place, and some room in the lid as well to store the Centrotec drillsets - those sets are starting to reveal themselves as the real hidden gem of the Centrotec system.

I think the LED is OK, but the usability is limited. It's a nice gimmick, but its main virtue is it fits the Quick-Fix collar, and in up or down position. It does get in the way now and then, but I tend to use a headlamp anyway, so I don't really have much use for it. They should have included the headband with the drill, that would have made it a lot more usefull.
Rob.

Hi Rob,
Yes, I think of doing that too. But buying another systainer plus inserts, which Festool Denmark cannot get yet, because it's market specific, (I jusk asked), will stall it quite some time, if not for ever.... [crying]
I just thought that if I have overlooked a smart way to swap the stuff so far, maybe someone here will know the trick. [eek]
There seems to be parts and other stuff that is not sold on various markets. Like the centrotec set, specific systainers etc.
Hmm.. I'll try again. Having the small centrotec holder off the drill is very inconvenient for me, as it's the one I use. I've two extra centrotecholders, to make it even more easy. [big grin]

Cheers,
Jacques  [wink]

Jacques, I too was a bit dissapointed that the USA version systainer was not available. I guess Festool GMBH want North American business over Northern europe's  [eek]

I have a cunning plan though, to free up my Guide Rail Accessories Systainer for all the bits to go with my T15- drills, driver bits and drywall chuck etc. So buying a new systainer is not necessary. ;D
Rob.

Jacques,

I use a variant of the technique Rob quoted.  That is, you have to take the Centrotec head off and put it in its 'home', however, there is no need to attach the drywall chuck to the drill - it will simply sit in the space designed for it above the light and to the left of the drill shaft itself.  I believe that it was probably engineered to allow the chuck to be left attached to the drill yet there is enough space to have them side-by-side as well.

This saves the hassle of taking the drywall chuck on and off when you don't need to.

Hope this helps.

John

i just took the insert out of mine and put everything in loose and it fits fine, my dril lives my tool tote most the time anyway as i use it on everything

Hi Deansocial,
Yeas, but I like it orderly organised, and that it doesn't jump around when driving.

Rob and John,
I will visit my local small dealer today and squeeze his ... to get me the parts on the sys2, and for the moment, I leave it as you wrote.

Other smart solutions or hidden gems of storage in the T15+3 box or the centrotec box is much welcome.

Cheers,
Jacques.

OT: btw, I think I'll get a router today or tuesdat (closed in between), and I was thinking of just the small of1010ebq. But is there something related to cabinet-, worktop- and general use, that this small of1010ebq cannot do?
For example, I want to insert a thin oiece of alumimium or stainless steel into the front of the new worktop (or maybe it's called kitchentable?), and rout small cavities for inserting steelballs on the topsurface of mentioned table, for placing hot pots and pans when cooking. ps: I am new to routers.

Sounds like the 1010 will do what you want.....but, if you need to cut the joint for an L shape worktop then you will need a router capable of using at least 12.7mm shank cutters with the power to do so. The Of 1400 would be such a router.
I made the mistake when I started out of buying a small capacity collet router, then very soon I had to buy a 1/2" collet router to do the work I had coming in. Buy the largest capacity you can stretch your budget to, within the expectations you have for future projects.
Regards Rob.

There is another caveat: the template guide rings aren't self-centering in the OF 1010, You'll have to use a centering mandrel everytime you mount one - and you'll want them when you use the the MFS system.
Centering the guide rings with the mandrel gets old fast if you have to do it a lot.
Other then that, it's a perfect little router wit lots more "Oomph" then you'd expect from the package.
I wouldn't use it to rout worktop connections full depth, but I'd rather use the OF 2200 instead of for instance the OF 1400 for that task anyway.

Regards,

Job
