Any reason why i shouldn't click the order button?

Ive been kicking this around for the last few months since my trusty makita was showing signs of it going and today it kicked the bucket in the middle of a job  [eek]

I guess the question is do you really need the 18 for what you do?  I am totally happy with 12v for building and installing cabinets.

I'm sorry, but the title of this thread makes no sense...

Someone get the pitcher of green koolaid out here quick  [tongue]

But seriously, the T18 is an awesome drill.  I can't say anything against it.

Well I have 2 of them plus a t15 driver and smaller CX baby I love them all , I also have 3 milwakees and 2 Makita drills
And they are screamers compared to T18 that is it in nutshell. The T 18 is powerful and yet gentle drill driver it is very versatile I have many drills as I said but I go for festool every time. The other ones I use for really rough stuff now as they delegated to being second choice.....but for fine joinery work I also love CSX drill as it is strong and light and has all the attachments. But mate they are Festool and you can't wrong trust me I have nearly every Festool piece of equipment there is, so why would you think I would invest around $30 grand worth of gear if it wasn't the best

Get out of the way....I'll push the button for you so you can thank me later :)

lol!

it started with me originally wanting a t15 but ive been so used to my 18v makita being abused over the years im not sure i want to take the chance of the t15 being under powered.

Im consistently drilling 1" to 1 1/4" holes through botom plates/top plates and through 2x4,6,8,12s etc. using auger bits and "long bits" my makita has got me through 95% of all jobs without having to pull out my hole hawg. I imagine the t18 will do the same for me if not more? ;)

I have my 12V Makita "pocket" drill for the fine stuff like putting in speakers, faceplates etc, thinking about retiring that and getting the cxs at a later time as i build my centrotec set up.

Is there anyone out there that doesnt like the t18? i know most of the opinions of the TI15, just wondering if there are any out there for the T18?

A: Because you can get 2 or 3 other brand drills for the same price. But of course that isn't an apples to apples comparison is it. Those eccentric and 90 degree chucks are pretty awesome, hopefully you're including those in the order.

Yup sure am! Going with the t18+3

The only reason I haven't got a T18 is because I could get a PDC 18-4 Protool.  [wink]

Just do it...you will not have any regrets and if it does not work out, use the 30 day return policy.

My buddy has the T15 and I tried it.  It was a nice drill, but for remodeling work I found it under powered.  I picked up the T18 and it is great, I like it a lot better.  Don't hesitate - get it.

Dood,

If ya drink enough of the kool aid ya become numb to the sticker shock.

I say buy it and if it dont work buy another, its only money and your kids college fund your retirement fund, vacation money…..life insurance policy,

We at the festool 32 LR step program dont sweat the small stuff, like food, clothes, mortage  payments health insurance.

I say buy it [big grin]

I have faced the same dillema this morning at the Festool dealer, I went there to buy a T15, the owner says let me show you a T18 to compare, since they are the same size and weight I took the T18. Finaly getting rid of the heavy 18 volt Dewalt that I hate from day one!

Just gave my makita 14v impact and drill away, I also gave away my Milwaukee corded small angle drill (like the metabo) getting a C 12 kit monday.

you guys are not good for my wallet  [eek]

placing the order tonight!

Thanks guys!!!  [big grin]

It'll go well with the cordless CARVEX [wink]

Milwaukee Tools actually came by the shop earlier this week and we had a drill shoot-out to see what's what.

Granted the T18 is in a completely different league, we still threw it in there just for fun against Makita LXT and Dewalt 20V-MAX.  To their credit, the new Milwaukee FUEL M18 drills are pretty darn good... but, and with no surprise, the T18 blew everybody out the water, and a bit further through the atmosphere, and a bit into outer space.

As noted above, the CXS is a crazy awesome little drill too.  Our two top sellers in fact, which goes with the saying - "Go big (or small), or go home."

And absolutely - if you're not getting the set with the right-angle and eccentric chuck, you're really missing a significant portion of getting a Festool drill.

you  wont regret it:) had mine for 3 years and have used it daily as a plumber. alooot of 1" to 3" holes and its still perfect. bought a empty sys 3 and the carvex psc + combi insert and its so darn sweet

I'd be curious to know what made the T18 excel over the M18 Fuel.... other than the added chucks. More power and torque? Better battery life? Inquiring minds want to know. [drooling] [popcorn]
