Tape Measure issues

I received the Festool Tape Measure as a gift. It's a great tape measure. I really enjoy the small size and ability to measure inside boxes. However for some reason the tape will not fully retract. I have to push it in towards the last 3-4 inches. I noticed on a friends that it is quick to retract with no assistance. Is mine broken? Can it be fixed? Replaced?

Mines the same. I've not bothered to tension mine but it could do with a minor tweak. I love the tape though:  inside measurements and also radius drawing is great. Very well thought out and underrated tool in my opinion.
