Hello I am after doing the hose mod using the tech flex braided sleeping and the heat shrink for terminating the sleeping.
I was going to order from Cableorganiser.com I selected all what I needed but when I went to pay it added 180 dollars for shipping so obviously I am not ordering from there.
My question is does anyone know where I can get this product from in the uk or somewhere in Europe
Thanks very much alister

I once did order Tech Flex braided sleeving from: TechFlex NL
Went pretty well. But I don't know if they do ship to the UK though.

I also found the following web-shop: Hypex

Thanks very much neeleman I ordered from the second link it cost me £55 For 15m/50ft of the sleeping and 1m of the shrink tube if anyone is interested.

Thanks again alister

I ordered the Techflex from Hypex a few weeks ago, but it has not arrived yet - I think they indicated 2 weeks delivery so that would be around now.

I ordered 4m of 0.75" tubing and 4m of 1.25" tubing for the 27mm and 36mm hoses respectively - but as yet I cannot confirm that is the right spec!

I ordered the heat shrink separately from an ebay seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heat-Shrink-Tubing-50-mm-x-2-metre-Black-Car-Auto-Cycle-Insulation-Tube-Sleeving-/110830330760?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19ce00a388 which should give me plenty more heatshrink left over.

I must say I have got fed up with the hoses catching on the edge of boards etc and hope this fairly laborious and expensive fix helps - I am sure that if Festool put their mind to it, they could improve on the ridged hose design.

cheers

Cableorganizer.com shipping cost to Finland was 40$, strange that cost varies so much.

Thanks for Techflex NL link, I ordered sleeves from there.

I use a generic braided sleeve from CPC - works well, and they're based in Preston so shipping's a bit more reasonable ;)

Thanks for the replies my order never actually went thru as there was a problem with PayPal so I will try the link above instead. I don't want to put the cable within the sleeving I just want a bit of protection for the hose and for it to slide over the rail easy.
Which side is best for the 28mm hose and which size is best for the 36mm
Thanks very much alister

I ordered the following sleeves:
  • Flexo Pet 1" for the 27 mm hose
  • Flexo Pet 1¼"for the 35 mm hose
One of these I ordered in Festool green (Neon green). But there are a lot more colours to chose from (see below).
But the available colours depend on the type of sleeve you chose.
I advise you to order a lot more then the length of the hose. Expanding the diameter of the sleeve does shorten it also.
For the price per meter it doesn't harm your wallet.

I received my hose sleeves (1" for 27 mm hose), I didn't think this issue at all and bought only 3 m. It covers 2 m of hose, so useful coverage was 65%.
It's ok, because I use plug-it hose (it has three sections, middle one is 2,6 m long.), but I'll order longer sleeve later.

That was easy to put on, but I would try a bigger one if I need to put plug-it cord too.

There is a French subsidiary of CableOrganzer.com  http://www.cableorganizer.fr from which I ordered my hose sleeve a few years ago.
The home page is in French but there seems to be a "translate button" on it to various languages.

Shipping to Europe should be less expensive from it than from the USA

Thanks very much Garry martin I ordered from your eBay links much cheaper and all worked out perfect.
When I used the shrink tubing the braid actually pulled out so I used a small bit of tape to attach to the shrink tubing then shrunk another piece over the top was a very neat job and should last for years and I don't tink it should pull out now.

It cost me £18 in total and should do at least 2 hoses absolute bargain

If anybody is thinking of doing this then make sure you don't cut the sleeving before its on it's very hard to judge exactly how long you need.
It also makes it easier if you remove the rubber connector on the hose

Thanks again alister

A small length of electrical or duct tape works great for holding the sleeving in place. Then you can just use the heat shrink over the top.
