Just bought the domino and am curious to know if there is a formula for deciding tenon length. I'm making an A & C bed frame and my stock that I want to join is from 7/8" to 1 1/4. Suggestions?

Length is often more important than width- I'd use 6x40mm for the slats, and maybe 8 or 10x50 for the thicker components. Obviously bigger mortises take longer to bore than smaller ones, so if the domino is just for alignment not strength, I usually go small.

Lots of people will reference a "1/3 rule" whereby the suitable tenon is 1/3 the wood thickness, but I've not found it to be useful in most cases.

Good luck and welcome to the FOG.
