I have one of these that I use to straight-line aluminum & stainless. With the steel brush attached, I think this could work quite well for wood.

Good looking machine but not available in my area.
I might look into making an arbor for a standard angle grinder that will accept the festool brushes.

Designed for wood structuring and fits a standard angle grinder M14 thread,.
Probably will use a Dewalt DWP 849X-GB.

@Lbob131 Have you looked into the Makita wheel sander? I did a review of it a while back.

My experience using some of the wire brush attachments for the angle grinder is that their removal was inconsistent and much rougher relative to the Makita.
