Hello FOGers,

Like some others have said, before I say anything else - "Thank you!".  I've lurked around here for some time soaking up your knowledge and insight and have learned so much.  This forum is an unbelievable resource and i use it almost daily.

I'm a little shy about talking about myself like this, but I owe you that, considering what I've taken away.  I consider myself a semi-pro.  I have a day job (federal gov., geology background) but am working very hard at growing my plan B.  Truth be told, I love cabinetry and carpentry in general and would much rather do that full time.  I am a tradesman at heart and would probably have chosen a different path if I had known then what I know now (ever hear that before?).  I do have a website and blog - soon to be revised for what it's worth.  As for my projects, most recently I've done a few radiator covers, window seat/ storage units, short runs of cabinets.  My biggest project so far was a stair case rebuild, nothing fancy but I consider it my personal best so far. I am usually pretty happy with my work and I get mostly positive feedback and call-backs, but you should know that I am nervous about "exposing myself" in this forum.  I have seen some amazing work here.  Your work (and stories) inspires me.  I am so much closer to the beginning of this journey than the end that it's not funny; but I'm enjoying the ride.

I found the FOG through the Festool website - I'm sure I was sniffing out demo videos, trying to convince myself that it was a justifiable expense.  Well I have come a long way and I am now so far past that point that I almost don't care what any particular Festool machine costs.  It is merely a question of do I need it and, if so, do I get it now or latter.  If you are reading this, chances are that you know that better than I do.  At this point I have: TS55, old MFT (small one), CT26, CT mini, Rotex 90, ETS 125, OF 1400, TI 15, CXS, surfix system, sys cart, sys roll, two syslites, domino 500 set, 5-piece ZOBO forstner bits (love these) - I think that's all :-(

Thanks for enduring the long intro.

Thanks to everyone for your welcoming comments, I really appreciate it.  I have tons of questions but hopefully I'll be able to provide a few answers along the way.  I'll attach a couple for pics (before and after) of my latest commission - a radiator cover.  I built two others for the same couple and will be doing one more.  This one has a "charging bay" in the drawer and an outlet (for a lamp?) on top.  it is not buttoned down, just set in place in this photo.  They liked the scribed cutouts for the base trim.
