Since Festool systainers all look pretty much the same (at least in my wife's eyes) it isn't all that hard to hide a new toy amongst the bunch. Granted, you need to have more of them than your wife wishes to count. But there comes a time when you have so many systainers, bringing a new tool into the bunch doesn't really bring about any questions. Unfortunately, my childish angst often gets the best of me and I can't resist the urge to take my new Festool out and put it to good use. With sanders, saws, drills, routers, and dust extractors, I am usually in the clear, my wife doesn't even think twice about them. Again, in her eyes, they all look the same. It is the more exotic Festools that always draw the questions... the Kapex, the UG cart and extensions, the CMS.
Today I am bringing a really special gem home to the shop. As long as it stays in the systainer, I will be safe, but that would practically be blasphemy. I know that as soon as I introduce this beauty into the wild, it will be spotted. There is no keeping this a secret. I am pretty sure she has never seen anything like this. I am sure The impending questions are inevitable. What is that? What does it do? I foresee myself building a lot of storage for the closets and utility room in the not so distant future so I can justify this to my wife.
