The word stereo came up in the Roubo thread so I posted some pics of a project I did a couple years back. Build a 300B stereo amp.
Figured I show it in it’s own thread. The case is figured maple and the legs are walnut. The top plate and back plate are bronze sheet. I had them water cut.
I purchased the boards from “The Professor” and bought the components from DigiKey and Mouser. The boards included three filament (heater) regulators, a power supply board, a driver board, and a high voltage (400V) Maida regulator. The power tubes are 300B and the receiving tubes (valves) are E1CC88’s. The vintages range from 1959 to 1967. I have some 62’ La Radiotechnique’s that are amazing.
I learned how to solder the surface mount components from “Dave Jones”. This was my one and only electronics project. I couldn’t think of anything else I wanted to build after it was completed.
I’m really just a solder monkey. (Like a wood monkey) Match the component off the list with the position on the board. 50 ohm resistor goes to “R23” on driver board and so on. Along the way I picked up some knowledge of how the thing works but most of that has vanished (poof) and would have to be learned all over again. It would take me days to break out the stuff and answer any questions and I have a bench to build.
