The green slippery slope

Well guys I joined this site just over a year ago I think, bought myself my first festool a ts55 straight away and loved it( still do)
Now I just feel like I want it all, making excuses up too buy something new and trying too justify it lol. So in a year I went from no festools to a ts55,  kapex 120, ti 15 impact, picking up a new t15+3 drill and of1400 router this Friday , and next month I'm getting ps420 15v jigsaw, and there is loads more I need  [tongue] [eek]
Definitely on the slippery slope  ;D

Don't worry - by the sound of it you've only got a mild dose of green fever. Heaven help you if it turns serious!  [scared]

You might find that after acquiring all the necessary Festoys (i.e. all of them) you will gravitate to other manufacturers for interesting tools like Lie-Nielsen, Veritas, Pfeil etc. like Kev said...

Just got my first hit of Veritas stuff today in the form of an MkII honing kit with all trims & fine tooth dovetail saw & 1:8 and 14 deg. dovetail drawing aids.  [cool]

There is a way to slow down the Festool Fever but I have been reluctant to reveal the secret.  Perhaps you are game to try this.

Festool products are known for their cutting accuracy, their sanding acumen, and their dust collection.  To offer temporary resistance you need to do:

1.  Find a cheap pair of sunglasses.
2.  Remove the lenses
3.  Find some window screening.
4.  Cut pieces of that screening that will cover those openings in the sunglasses.
5.  Duct tape using green duct tape those screening pieces into the openings while still allowing for vision.
6.  Take a picture of you wearing that and post it in this thread.

You do that and the tight weave of the screen will offset the 2.2mm kerf, the grid will confuse the sandpaper, and the large particles of dust will be scared by what they see and will run to CT for protection.

If you do this - all in fun and in the spirit of the forum - I will mail to you one of the last remaining FOGhats.

Peter, the easiest way to cure the green fever is obvious, just buy at least one of everything in the Festool catalogue.

Then you can sit back and relax (and save up) until a new tool is released.  [smile]

haha I don't own any sunglasses I live in Scotland , my other half is Going mad I've got 6 systainers in my living room,
Also the other night I cleaned my kapex in the kitchen and my ti 15 then put some dressings on the plastics so they look new again [eek] [eek] then gave the apprentice into trouble for putting my drill on its side on the floor at work ,
