Picktool,
You mentioned installing air clamps- is there any brand model you've used and recommend?
Well... J Slovic I picked up a pair of 1-1/2"dia x 4"stroke single action cylinders from AutomationDirect.com
https://www.automationdirect.com/ad...matic_Air_Cylinders/Round_Body_Air_Cylinders_(A-Series)/Single-Acting_-z-_Spring_Return#Stroke_s=(+%224+in.%22)&start=0&Mounting_ms=%22Front+Nose%22&Bore_Size_s=%221-1/2+in.%22
All the parts are in the Pneumatic Section.
Along with a batch of fittings, tubing and extra stuff.
I cobbled up a 1-1/2" x 6"h x 1/8"wall Alum tube like you see
in this pic: (This was from LumberJocks, using for reference)
Make sure to put some UHMW under them so they dont make your table
blackened like mine did.
Wasnt it Brian Lamb who came out with "The Big Squeeze" clamps?
David Best has a small writeup on them too.
Also got the push/pull valves, air reg. ... gah alot to list.
I have a schematic that I put together that I can upload
tomoro. Again, this is for low budget, not for industrial
last forever use.
Anyways, I think I managed about $100 +/- per clamp. The plastic
fittings are kinda cheezie but they work.
For now, these are get bys and no way comparable to Macs Clamps.
Those are the ultimate. Some day.... some day.
I'd like to find that control lever valve thats on top of his cylinders.
Must be custom or he himself made it.
Saving a buck or two for now.
