I only have one of the Bessey PG Heavy Duty One Hand Clamps and it’s a 24” so it’s kinda heavy (3.8#) and awkward for general use (usually use Quik-Grips) but I’m very glad I have it when it’s needed.
There have been some new offerings from Bessey lately, I’ll think you manage to catch up Oliver, as there isn’t too much [wink]
Apart from a pair of their new in-line multi function table clamps, these did also catch my eye.. so there will be at least a couple of additional pairs from Bessey for me too.
I’m probably not alone thinking these will be a very nice addition to the “can’t have enough clamps” collection.. [big grin]
What type of jobs do you guys find the old school wooden clamps most useful for?
I have some around but seldom reach for them and would love your suggestions for future reference.
A modern adaptation that I have made to this very old-school type of clamp is to drill a hole in one jaw, perpendicular to the screws, to allow for attachment to a bench dog. This allows me to clamp things standing vertically, but held in place on an MFT (or other dog table)
