Shane, tried to post pictures from my iPad running iOS 8.0 and always get the following message:

Service Unavailable.

Technical description:
504 Gateway Time-out - The web server is not responding

iOS 8 is a demonstration of Apple with it's pants down. I'm in a big Apple community and the general feeling is quite negative.

The flimsy phone (6 plus bendy) and the buggy OS are going to cost Apple shareholders big time. Apple customers are the big losers [sad]

Further, those that made their first bid at Apple because of the larger format will be simply hostile!

I bet Tim Cook wants to hide under a rock right now!

It may be worth trying the 8.0.2, if you dare. I'm planning to do a "wait and see" before I update to it. Maybe it got fixed in the update. Maybe it broke something else. Who knows.

This bug is fixed in IOS 8.0.2 which is available now.

IOS 8.0.2. Still Has issues, Apple have you done. Iphone and Ipad running so slow now and having to click a second time to fully load an email with images is really not something i care for eithet

Ya, he will be joining John Scully...both good administrators but hardly innovative or single minded and mercurial enough to actually release a product/update that delights more than it disappoints.
It's unfortunate that Apple lost it's one and only product developer.
Tim

My normal confidence with Apple is shot to be honest! Specific apps on my iPad Air that I use for business just crash out (like MS Word).

This is going to go down in history as a benchmark blunder [blink] [tongue]

What's going to be interesting is to watch how Apple's competition capitalise of this mistake. To date Apple has played the card of it's integrated product and software offering being highly superior and have used it to justify both price and standing.

TBH it's nothing new for first release Apple products to be FUBAR. Been there done that before. Once the kinks are worked out its great but not so good on the bleeding edge. My thanks to the lab rats for doing what you do.

Normally I would agree entirely [wink] ... I see a difference in magnitude here and as I was expressing, a very different community feel. Obviously time will tell.

I love the lab rat comment [big grin] [big grin] there's a lot to be said for watching from the side lines!

My time as an Apple devotee goes back to 1984, have seen a lot of FUBAR in those 30 years. OS changes were notorious for killing 3rd party software on the first release. Common practice to have a dedicated workstation just for compatibility testing before bringing upgrades to production. Especially problematic back in the OS9 era and then into the OSX change along with the PowerPC to Intel conversion. About the only reason I stayed on board was it generally was easier to use for the graphics work I was heavily involved in and also dealing with legacy files. And they've had many hardware bombs as well. Lisa, 20th anniv Mac, Apple 3, Newton, Pippin, etc. Remember the early iPhone 1st generation was new and cool but was a really lousy phone? Or their really messed up Maps release? There's been lots of fuming about Apple over the years but we'll see in time how things now play out without Jobs to smooth things over.

The "Jobs factor" is significant. People need a face they can believe - they don't have to like, just believe ... that's where Tim Cook just doesn't fit the role.

The 80's were fun ... I was heavily involved in the educational software space and intimate with everything that beeped and buzzed! Today would have seemed like science function back then!

Interesting Sal, am running 8.2 on IPad, two other family members on line and I am noticing a significant DL and divice operating speed increase over 8.0. Still only been on 8.2 around 30 mins but certainly impressed at this early stage.    [smile]

8.2 on iPad ???

Really?

I pulled down 8.0.2 on my WiFi-only iPad last night, and it seems to be working well.  YMMV...
