thoughts and opinions on mafell

Most likely the kss300 as I really miss having a small saw ever since my 4 1/2'' porter cable saw died. I already have a ts55 and ts75 so I'm in pretty good shape there but must admit the Mafell mt55cc looks like a really nice saw and may also be added in the near future ;)

The KSS 300 is great, curious to know how you like yours.

I've got a TS 55, I suspect I'll replace it with the mt 55 in the next year or so

I think a 300 or MT will be next. I have found my Mafell tools really compliments my Festool collection nicely. I like having no compromises.

If you're contemplating a 300, be sure to also consider the 400. The 300 is very nice and compact, and with the correct blade it can power through most materials, but the 400 is better suited to working on the F-tracks, has two KSS track options (400mm and 700mm), and generally has greater capacities. The 300 will cut on the F-tracks, but at a bevel it no longer cuts right at the edge of the splinter strip. It all depends on what your needs are. Either way, I'm sure you won't be disappointed  [smile]

I have the porter cable 4.5 saw had it for almost ten years.I think it's a good saw done a lot of jobs with it . But since I got the
KSS 400 it has not gotten much use except plywood shear or siding.
I have not used or seen KSS 300 so can not say anything about it.
Have a great holiday season

I just got the KSS400 and i do enjoy working with it. Been doing a 300 square-feet deck with it.  The guide-rail for cross-cuts works really well and it's faster than a compound mitre saw for one-off cuts. The 'normal' rail was a bit fiddly in the beginning but works as well as the Festool equivalent. No problem, power-wise, doing mitred angles in wet 195x45 mm wood (22,5deg.) In my opinion the most versatile saw i've used up till now.

We use the Mafell MT55 for cutting doors and sheet material and the KSS400 on the 770kss track for crosscutting.  I wish I'd bought the Erika rather than the Presico CS70.

I just unpacked my Erika 85 and can say without even turning it on that its built amazingly well. The folding legs are very sturdy and easy to use and the leveling foot... I came home and told my wife about it that's how cool it is.

I've had the PC Trim saw for many years and finally bought the Mafell MT55cc to add dust extraction.  My Porter Cable worm drive trim saws still works great but I have become more and more sensitive to dust over the years and the Mafell saw gives me excellent results.

The Timberwolf folks are a pleasure to do business with.
