Throw away those Festool saw Blades......TENYRU BLADES ROCK!!!!

I don't know which cuts best, but considering the cleanest cut against some dust extraction suffering? The cleanest cut wins hands down for me every time. If that means that I've got a little extra sweeping up to do, then so be it.

If you're in a shop then yes this is a much better trade off, I also would go with better cut. But, if you are walking into someone's home and have sold them on the idea that your saw will be cutting 2 rooms from the new baby's room and dust won't be a problem, then that to me is a bigger concern.

Maybe I just need to reduce the length of my hose.

I've used Tenyru on a dewalt 12" and loved it!! But became a big fan of Forrest blades.  Does Forrest make anything for Festool?

Yes they do!!

They make several blades for each of the Festool saws.

And the yare made just down the road from us in New Jersey.

Give us a call if you need details about the blades.

Right down the road, huh? No wonder you guys had my woodworkerII blade sharpened so quickly. And thanks for recommending that chopmaster for the Kapex. It has been cutting like a hot knife to butter for a while but it's almost time for me to peel some wax off the teeth again!

Yes, our turnaround on sharpening is a Wednesday to a Wednesday.  So if you drop it off, you will have it back in about a week.

Great to hear the positive reviews on the blades.  [thumbs up]  [thanks]

Ken

I bought one for my TS 55. it was good, nothing special. I still like the way festool blade cuts better.

It would/ does make a nice alternative when I have my festool blade out being sharpened.

Best thing I ever did for my Kapex was putting the Chopmaster blade on it.

Cuts clean, and the end grain is as smooth as silk.

Hi,

I was using a Top of the range 80 tooth FLAI blade from Italy ( even though it is 254mm it still cuts fine as I use a sacrificial fence. I used to think it cut well but the TENYRU blade is just the bee's knees.

In Europe FLAI saw blades are way behind Leitz or Festool. They are in the same range as Freud or maybe CMT.
In your case Tenyru blade is much more expensive than FLAI.

Just ordered my Tenyru 80 T miter pro!!!  Hope it's as good as everyone is saying!!
Been burning through oak trim all week. The 60 T festool blade just isn't cutting it anymore!

Kev,
I ordered it weds night and it was on my door step when my daughter got home from school today! I put the new blade on right away and HOLY COW! The festool 60 T and the Tenyru 80 T are not even in the same Category! I know the festool blade is old and this one is brand new but I remember when I first got the kapex. I was a little disapointed with the tearout from the blade. I just trimmed a room addition with oak trim and I wish I had this blade! With just making a few test cuts all I can say is this blade is worth the money!  The festool 60 T I guess just isn't for fine cuts in trim and moldings.

I think you might be comparing apples and oranges...

The Kapex comes with a 60-tooth, Universal Blade. Festool also sells an 80-tooth, Fine Tooth Blade

Anyone compared 80T Festool and Tenyru ?

Yes, I have compared the Festool 80T Kapex blade with the Tenyru. After performing this extensive test I have returned to using the Festool blade.

I might be comparing apples to oranges but seems like a lot of people have used both and say the  Tenyru has a little bit of an edge over the 80 T festool blade. I have alway had good luck with Tenyru so I based my purchase off of personal experience and some reviews.
I also kind of think since most people are using the kapex for fine finish work maybe the saw should come with the 80T to begin with.

trust me you won,t be disappointed I cut jarrah, black but, beech, oak and ironbark timbers all with perfect cuts no tearout and hot knife through butter.
