I know several of us brought this up before but taking the old metal down and building new railing from scratch would be faster and cheaper.
You wouldn't have to screw around fitting each one of the balusters sections on metal that is probably not consistent etc. etc.
You could build the sections (efficiently) in your shop, bring them to the home and install put the railing on and away you go.
