Today he used the Festool planer with the rustic cutter and a Rotex to make a rough hewn timber.  Love it.

I too was surprised to see Festool back on the show.  For a while, it seemed Dewalt pushed out all the Festool equipment.

Tom has just about every Festool there is - and so does his crew. Even if not so prominent on every show; they're on every job.

Nothing can be worse than pledge week... or as I call it pledge week... month... when is this going to be over already?

I like how he tactfully refers to the Domino as "the mortising machine".  Kevin was using the Kapex last episode.  I wish Festool would get on board with some endorsements.

You can watch full epsiodes at their website: This Old House

I watch online....far more convenient than regular viewing....no commercials and It fits my schedule.

Just got a Tweet from Kevin O' Connor about using the Domino for counter top joinery. I think they like Festool over at TOH.  [big grin] [thumbs up]

Isn't the best endorsement the one you don't pay for?  To me, it says a lot more than any commercial or paid endorsement.

The last episode I saw had Tommy using the DF 700 to join mantel sections and an OF 2000 with a routing guide to plow out a dado in the mantel.  There were at least two CTs in view, too.

And the Kapex and a whole bunch of systainers with tools.  The episode that had the imitation timber framing in the one room used a Dewalt impact on one end and a Makita at the other.  What - not Ti-15?

A while back, Norm visited a factory that made a 20' wooden countertop, with a counter height to floor return.

After the factory cut the 4 foot long miter, they joined the two pieces using a Domino 700 (Domzilla)
